UNDERSTANDING BASE DESIGN

Looking for a hair system that lasts long, natural, and comfortable? Well, grab a coffee, sit back, and read this blog.

In choosing a suitable hair replacement system, you need to know its base design. The term “base design” refers to the materials used to construct the hair systems foundation. The base is the layer where the hair is attached to. Each base design has different characteristics that may or may not suit your preference thus, it is important to know the base design.
Here are the base designs of our hair systems. We hope that this blog can help you choose the right hair system base for you.

. Poly or Skin Type Base Design
If you are looking for a hair replacement system that makes you look like you are not wearing one, after all, this base type is your best choice! Skin base creates the most undetectable scalp appearance. This has a translucent membrane that allows showing your natural scalp color and creates an imitation of your real skin tone. Skin base systems are easy to take care of. It is quite easy to clean up, remove, and attach. We suggest you use a liquid adhesive when attaching it. This has three kinds: clear poly, poly with gaze, and poly coating for you to choose from.
  1. Clear poly- has a transparent appearance and is thinner than the other kinds of poly.
  2. Poly with gauze- Well, as its name suggest, this poly has a layer of gauze which increases thickness and durability.
  3. PU coating- this is the thickest kind of poly; therefore, it is strong that it can hold heavy hair density.

.  Full Lace Base Design
If you are looking for the lightest, most breathable, and undetectable base this is the right one for you! The full lace base is entirely made of lace. The lace is thin and soft; thus, it is also relatively delicate. Also, it is breathable because the air can pass through its mesh. The lace mimics the look of your scalp and can be adjusted in a color that matches your skin tone. Because of this, a full lace base provides you the most versatile option of parting your hair anywhere you like, “freestyle” is the term we use for it.  We mainly have two kinds of lace- French Lace and Swiss Lace. See the difference below.
  1. Swiss Lace- the finest and most undetectable. Being the fine, it is also the most delicate. It lasts only for about a month and the large density we can apply to it is 100%.
  2. French Lace- it is a little bit thicker than Swiss and more durable. It can hold up to 140% hair density and last for about four months.

III. Front Lace Base Design

If you want to achieve that natural appearance of total lace hair systems at the same time provide a longer lifespan this base is perfect for you! This base type is the combination system using lace material only in the front and hairline areas. Lace fronts with poly at the back and top add strength and durability.
Just like any other base type, this has also its downside. It is the “bumpy feeling” you will feel when you wear it, well, it is because of the varying weight between lace in the front and poly in the back; so when you run your fingers through the hair it reveals a small ‘bump’ at the point where the two materials meet.

IV. Mono
Mono is a sound choice if you like a full, thick head of hair and a durable hair system. The weave of mono base design is tighter than lace. It also holds a heavy hair density. We have four kinds of mono we used in our hair systems and these are the following.

  1. Fine Mono- commonly used base material, breathable, and hold a large density.
  2. Super fine mono- basically the same as fine mono, except that the net is smaller.
  3. Silk mono- exceptionally soft and comfortable to wear
  4. Fine welded mono- has lots of holes therefore its breathable, durable as well.
